The purpose of the journal “Plant and Soil Science” is to highlight the results of scientific research, different points of view of scientists on global and urgent scientific problems, analysis of prospects for the future.
The journal publishes scientific papers in the following main areas related to plant cultivation and the optimisation of soil use for this purpose:
- Plant Biology and Breeding: studying the basic biological processes of plants, developing new plant varieties with improved characteristics through genetic engineering and selection.
- Crop production, management and protection: optimisation of cultivation, irrigation, fertilisation and pest control.
- Ecophysiology and plant physiology: the study of plant adaptation to the environment and physiological processes that affect their growth.
- Botany and soil relations: fundamental studies of plants and their interaction with soils, including symbiosis with microorganisms.
- Horticulture and production of fruit, vegetable and ornamental plants: the selection and cultivation of crops to improve quality and productivity.
- Soils: the study of the physical, chemical and biological properties of soils, their fertility, structural features and management to ensure sustainable agricultural production.
- Agronomy and post-harvest handling: managing the production cycle, harvesting and storage of crops to minimise losses.
- Chemistry: the study of chemical processes in soils and plants, including the analysis of the composition and effects of fertilisers, growth stimulants and plant foods to increase yields and improve product quality.
- Ecology: studying the impact of agricultural activities on soils and plant ecosystems, researching methods of preserving soil fertility, restoring degraded land and introducing environmentally friendly technologies in crop production.
